- If you make $75,000 and your spouse makes $75,000, then you are in the top 8% of income earning households in the US (Census 2008).
- If you make $125,000 and your spouse makes $125,000, then you are in the top 2% of income earning households in the US (Census 2008).

The overwhelming majority of American households make less than $100,000.
